starting out…

This blog is a place for me to talk about my vintage fashion and jewelry fetish, as well as a place for all things classically stylish.  Think Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Natalie Wood, Doris Day…the list goes on.  These women lived in a time when people dressed for dinner, gloves were de rigueur, and men wore hats and ties everyday.

Obviously times have changed, but their polished style is something we can all reach for.  These women looked like they had a steamer and lint brush with them at all times, and they likely did in the form of their personal assistant.  But today’s woman can still attain the classic look they embody while being modern.  It’s all about mixing unique, interesting pieces that really speak to you with standard and modern touches.

Think about some retailers out there: J. Crew, Anthropologie, Banana Republic.  These companies are keeping the vintage feel alive with their newest offerings.  A resourceful and mindful shopper can find similar fashions from the first time around and create the same looks for a lot less money.

So hopefully this blog will be a place for resources and ideas, tips and tricks that I’ve amassed on my own quest for Kelly-esque perfection.  Because who wouldn’t love to look like this?
